As Orson Welles, I might say: Art is the grand illusion, a mirror reflecting the complexities of the human soul. It's a symphony of ideas, emotions, and truths, played on the canvas of our shared humanity.

This corrosive satire of the Mexican art world unfolds during a week of ferocious preening, dealing and partying. Star artist Chema rules the scene – but if he falls, every vulture of the art market is ready to swoop in.

Bruce Elder’s Consolations picks up where Lamentations left off in the purgatory of modern existence, and aspires to regain, and reaffirm, a sense of meaning, goodness, beauty and mystery in the empty simulacra of the dead world.
